He doesn't really leave her alone, not since the morning they woke up and she was gone. He kept an eye on her before then, almost constantly, but it's only gotten worse since she got back. He doesn't sleep anymore unless he has to, he's move them into the same room, and when his eyes aren't locked on her, they're out the window, on the security cameras, searching for threats, waiting for the bastard to come back somehow, waiting for someone else to come for her. Just waiting, because it seems like things are only getting worse and worse, never better.
He gets sidelined for just a couple of minutes in the hall, talking to Steve, but it's long enough for her to get away. Long enough that when he catches up with her, she's on the edge of the Tower, and his heart practically stops, watching her. He knows she won't fall if she doesn't want to, but he doesn't know if she'll bother to keep herself from falling, or if she'll jump.
"Tasha," he starts gently, approaching slowly, not wanting to startle her into action by running at her. "Come down from there?"
